Room for Venomous Snakes
We think it is illusive to wait for a Germany-wide regulation for the keeping and selling of PLVA. Plus it would exclude our numerous guests from out of Germany. Since we prefer a controlled environment/show over business made in parking areas, and since we'd like to offer the venomous community a pleasant platform we have cooperated with breeders of venomous snakes, with a leading manufacturer of sophisticated cages and authorities to work out a concept that points out and controls the liability of vendors and potential buyers.
Please note: There's no table preference when booking for the Venomous Room! When booking for the Venomous Room you must accept the special regulations by clicking the respective field.
Some basic rules for the Venomous Room:
• All species of the genera Viperidae and Elapidae, plus all rear-fanged species of Dispholidus, Thelotornis and Rhabdophis are assumed to be PLVA.
• No offer without double security: This means that all boxes with individually packed animals need to be taped plus must be displayed in a display system, in a large terrarium or a similar closed and locked compartment that allows access only from the vendor's side. We have developed such a display system in collaboration with Lanzo Herp Cages, which is light-weight, safe, can be carried easily, and is definitely worth its price. The display system also protects from theft of the expensive animals so it's worth thinking about it for exhibitors of non-venomous animals, too. Every other display system with similar functionality will do as well. Decision about suitability is up to BEE staff and to the controlling authorities.
• No PLVA is to be taken out of its box during the show.
• Access to the venomous room will be controlled to exclude crowding and to guarantee escape routes.
• Buying PLVA is only possible after signing that a visitor explicitely assumes liability for his doings.
• Vendors are allowed to sell only to those visitors that have declared their liability. This will be controlled, any infringement leads to expulsion of the vendor from the show.
• PLVA are not permitted to be carried around on the show ground. Sold animals must stay with the vendor or at the official control point for the venomous room. Once acquired from there they must be brought away from the show ground immediately.
